Classic X-Men #13-16

Reminder: The Classic X-Men backup stories were written roughly 10 years after the original stories, though take place during this time period. This means they will sometimes use characters, or set up storylines that will not take place until much later.

Classic X-Men #13, Endangering Your Roommate To Save Dolphins:
Phoenix and Misty Knight are hanging out on a beach. Suddenly, Phoenix declares that THERE IS SOMEONE IN DANGER, and takes off on a boat into the ocean with Misty. She dives into the ocean with no explanation. Misty follows, is attacked by a shark, protected by a dolphin. Turns out Phoenix was just protecting some Dolphins from the shark. Maybe explain that to Misty before jumping into the ocean and not coming back up?

Classic X-Men #14, Lilandra-Xavier Mindmeld: Flashback to when Xavier did the Z-Nox thing and mindmelded with Lilandra on accident and led her to Earth. Lots of her thinking like a combination of herself and Xavier and being super confused.

Classic X-Men #15, How Scott Got a Hot Furry Stepmom: Flashback to Christopher Summers working in Shi'ar mines as a slave because he refused to give up his wife to D'Ken. He sees Hepzibah trying to escape, the rest of the soon to be Starjammers trying to help her. At first he is too traumatized, but then he runs to her rescue. Hepzibah bonds with him and the now Starjammers escape on a ship as "Corsair" is a pilot, the last thing they needed.

Classic X-Men #16, Sean Cassidy is not Running Explosives for the IRA: Flashback to Sean in the distant past. He's living at Cassidy keep and coming home, is currently being hassled by a cop who is accusing him of running stuff for the IRA. He is saved by a biker lady Maeve, they fall in love, but she is split between Sean and Sean's cousin Tom in who she likes more. In the end, trying to go to a dance with her, Sean gets run off the road by asshole cop and can't make it and sends Tom in his place. Tom finds he cannot lie to her and tells her what actually happened.

X-Tra Notes: 13 is silly. 14 is fine. 15 and 16 are both great. 15 fleshes out Corsair's background a bit more. 16 fleshes out Sean's background a bit more. Also gives Tom a bit of reason for hating Sean. Also also, is being used as background for a story that was going on closer to when the reprint was released with another character.
