Classic X-Men #23-27

Reminder: The Classic X-Men backup stories were written roughly 10 years after the original stories, though take place during this time period. This means they will sometimes use characters, or set up storylines that will not take place until much later.

Classic X-Men #23, Stranded, Nightcrawler Buckles Swashes: Takes place during the time they are on the Japanese ship. Nightcrawler and a female crewmember of the ship manage to fall off and get shipwrecked on an island. There are some weird cultist superthings there. He saves her from them, the end.

Classic X-Men #24, Mastermind Creepy with Jean: Takes place while Jean is on vacation in Greece. Mastermind, in the guise of Jason Wyngarde, uses his illusions and some other things to creep on her. This is starting the whole building up for the Dark Phoenix storyline.

Classic X-Men #25, Wolverine vs Dumbass White Guy: Wolverine is doing some kind of mercenary job, probably for the government? Doesn't really say. He gets injured and this dumbass dude stalks him for a bit while Wolverine narrates and marches on. Also he kills a bear.

Classic X-Men #26, So Banshee and Wolverine Walk Into A Bar...: At Harry's (the bar near the X-Mansion), Wolverine is telling Kurt and Sean (later Scott joins) a story about an old bar in Canada he used to go to. Turns out him and Banshee were there the same night from back when he was an Interpol agent. They both got into some shenanigans.

Classic X-Men #27, Cyclops Buys His Girlfriend and Heterosexual Life Mate Burgers: Scott, Jean, and Logan are off traveling for some reason. Scott is inside ordering burgers at a diner while Jean and Logan are outside talking. Turns out that the nearby plant that shut down recently has some creepy shit in the basement, Jean takes them all to go fight it. Also, man, this one includes a lot of Wolverine being a creep to Jean.

X-tra Notes: People just need to stop being a creep to Jean. None of these are particularly good, but at least I got a laugh out of Scott just acting like a suburban dad out with his teenage kids.

Also, in either #23 or #24, can't remember which, they add in some pages in the main story to show that Moses Magnum had been powered up by the villain Apocalypse (who won't actually be introduced in the comic until 1986).
