Classic X-Men #41-44, Marvel Treasure Edition #27

Reminder: The Classic X-Men backup stories were written roughly 10 years after the original stories, though take place during this time period. This means they will sometimes use characters, or set up storylines that will not take place until much later.

Classic X-Men #41-42, Mister Sinster vs Lonely Orphan Boy: This story takes place when Scott is still at the orphanage and before Xavier meets him. It involves the orphanage doctor lady getting close to him, and Scott's roommate "Nate" not liking that very much. Nate is also Mister Sinister and sabotages Scott's happiness throughout, including doing something to get rid of a couple that wanted to adopt him.

Classic X-Men #43, Jean Grey Meets Death, Maybe: This one is just weird. Jean Grey is in a white version of the Phoenix suit on top of some weird thing in the middle of space. She talks to this guy building stuff there. It is apparently Death? Maybe? It is all weirdly metaphorical, I guess and not very interesting.

Classic X-Men #44, No Kissing Boys!: Rogue as a young teen girl with Mama Mystique telling her to stop hanging out with that boy. She doesn't listen then kisses the boy and learns out that he has the mind of a teen boy and runs away and decides to listen to Mystique from now on including going on a dangerous mission.

Marvel Treasure Edition #27,  Angel vs Disgruntled Aircraft Manufacturer: Angel is off doing his own thing when he is attacked by a dude in some kind of super aircraft with a pointy tip on the front. Turns out that he is trying to kill Angel to get revenge on something Angel's dad did to his company. Angel beats him up.

X-Tra Notes: The Sinister one is really good. Probably the best written, and introduces a villain that will show up much later, as well as establishing his obsession with the Summers family. The rogue one is also pretty good. This is also the end of the Classic X-Men backup stories. Classic X-Men continues, but from this point on it is solely a reprint run.
