As he thinks through the last few events to Jean's death, Jean's father approaches him and checks in on him, he says he is fine, and asks how they are. You know, the awkward shit you do at funerals even though you probably all want to just lay down and not exist for a while. Lilandra gives the Grey's a crystal that shows Jean, and "radiates her essence" when you touch it.
Then Scott tells Xavier and Kurt that he needs to take a sabbatical. That he needs to live his life a little to straighten things out in his head. But in his head, he says how the one thing he definitely wants is to go on living cause that is what Jean brought out in him: life.
We then see Kitty arriving at the school for her official enrollment.
X-Tra Notes: And with that, the Phoenix era of the X-Men truly comes to an end. An awkward funeral and Scott doing something for himself rather than for everyone else. Something he really probably needs. And now that we are at a good break point, the next post will be instead, a retrospective on the X-Men from Giant Size #1 to now. So I'll save some of these thoughts until then.
