We start with Xavier's funeral. Quicksilver, who is currently following Magneto again (a bunch of Avengers stuff, him and Wanda tried to be heroes, Wanda got shot, lost her powers, and now he hates all humans) tries to attend the funeral from a difference out of respect, but the X-Men spot him. There is some minor scuffling and he basically is like "I should have known" and takes off. The X-Men listen to a recorded message from Xavier right before the Grotesk battle. The only real important thing that is shared here we didn't already know is that he had started training Jean in telepathy in addition to her TK.
Magneto in his base decides to just be a major dick to everyone, abusing poor Toad who does nothing but be a loyal servant to him, and lording over Quicksilver and Wanda how he potentially has the cure to her problem. Additionally, he is apparently planning to build a machine to brainwash everyone in the world. The one thing he needs is a computer that is being transported on a nearby cruise ship, which he grabs with his magnetic powers.
But SURPRISE, the X-Men were also on it, suspecting he might go after the computer (for reasons unexplained). They attack and are very quickly captured. Fortunately, Angel manages to escape and run to the Avengers for help.
Ok, here there is an entire side story where Angel runs into a random island that comes out of the water and ends up fighting the old Timely Comics (the precursor to Marvel) hero Red Raven. It is dumb, unnecessary, and does nothing for the actual plot of the story, so let's ignore it.
Cyclops also manages to break free, and then runs around trying to save everyone else. He fights off Toad, who reports to Magneto who then again treats him like garbage. Quicksilver and Cyclops fight. Quicksilver tries to convince him to join Magneto, Cyclops refuses, Cyclops wins the fight. Then the Avengers show up!
The Avengers show up but have captured Angel because they found a listening device and say they think he is with Magneto. Then they find Cyclops over Pietro's unconscious body, and fight Cyclops. Then they fight each other after grumbling about random things. Then Magneto uses his machine to brainwash the X-Men who were on the island long enough to be "primed" for it to attack the Avengers. The Avengers win, then the machine is destroyed by... Angel!
Turns out it was all a trick. They knew that Angel was innocent and guessed what Magneto would do, so they had Wasp whisper the real plan to him. Angel then showed up to stop the machine, the Avengers bust in on Magneto, and Magneto tells Toad to set off an explosive. Toad tired of the abuse, sets the whole island to explode and helps Wanda and Quicksilver escape, leaving behind Magneto.
All the heroes escape and then we see a shot of Magneto's helmet floating in the ocean.
X-tra Notes: Other than the completely unnecessary Angel vs Red Raven comic in the middle of the story for no reason, this one was pretty good. Good on Toad for finally having the strength to get out of his abusive relationship. You know though, at least when Magneto is a dick, he makes no pretenses about doing it for any reason other than being a dick, unlike Xavier.
