Uncanny X-Men #145-147: Alex Summers Leans Seductively On a Control Panel

Miss Locke (Arcade's assistant) has kidnapped a bunch of X-Men loved ones, and is threatening to run them through Murderworld if they don't help her rescue Arcade from Dr. Doom.

They agree, but are using it as a two pronged assault. The current X-Men will go and rescue Arcade, while secretly, Xavier has contacted Havok, Polaris, Iceman, and Banshee to try to break into Murderworld and rescue the hostages. He tried to contact Cyclops but failed, for reasons we'll see later.

The X-Men go to Doom's current castle, Storm tries to talk to Doom and convince him to let Arcade go... and then they all just get captured instead. Doom puts them all in special prisons designed to test their abilities, except Storm, who he just turns into a statue with science. (Which of course starts triggering her claustrophobia unknown to Doom).

While this is going on, the other team infiltrates Murderworld, gets thrown into the death traps, but in the end Havok manages to get to the control room and do the most hilariously out of character pose on the control panel.

And they rescue the hostages.

Back at the castle, all the X-Men manage to escape, they get to Doom, realize that the GIANT STORM that is happening in the entirety of the east coast of North America is because of Storm freaking the hell out. She is freed, goes Mini-Dark Phoenix on Doom, then pulls back at the last second.

Doom accepts an apology from Arcade and let's them all go. Also, there is a weird "Doom wants to subjugate Storm" subtext through the storyline that is honestly... you know what it is Claremont.

In the background of the whole storyline, we learn Lee and Scott were knocked overboard in a storm and washed up on a deserted island. He lost his glasses, and Lee learned about his powers. After surviving for a bit with him blindfolded, a mysterious island appears near them.

X-Tra Notes: Seriously what is up with all the male supervillains wanting to dom Storm. It has so many bad undertones on top of the general creepiness. Also, hilariously, the backup storyline actually does more to move forward the actual storyline than the main story, as we'll learn about that island soon.
