Uncanny X-Men #151-152: The Most Obvious Trap Ever Devised

Our story begins with Kitty's parents pulling her from Xavier's and enrolling her in the Massachusetts Academy. A school run by Emma Frost. Surprisingly, we find out that she DIDN'T mind control them into thinking she should go there.

Anyway, she's mad, everyone else is just like "welp, what can we do?". Honestly, I think they could do a lot more, but how could we have this dumb trap go off if they did anything about it?

Storm decides to drive her over there. Cyclops volunteers to go with her and she just... doesn't take the offer. Better to run into this trap all by myself! Kitty is sent off to her dorm room, then Emma does some weird whammy on Ororo and switches bodies with her to attack the X-Men.

Back at the X-Mansion, the whole place gets attacked by Sentinels sent by Sebastian Shaw. After a bit of fighting, Nightcrawler takes them out by teleporting C4 onto the legs of all of them. Also, WHY DOES XAVIER HAVE C4?

Anyway, Emma shows up in Storm's body, then knocks them for a loop by surprise. Storm, back in Emma's body breaks out using her lockpicking skills and then goes to rescue Kitty, who is clearly not buying that this is Ororo for a bit at least.

With the X-Men dealt with, Emma heads back to take care of Storm, and in the ensuing fight the car Storm is driving is driven off the road. Kitty survives by phasing, and pulls "Emma" from the wreck (which is good considering it is really Storm).

Kitty and Storm infiltrate the X-Mansion, while Amanda Sefton (who was at the mansion at the time) uses her magic to make Wolverine appear to be dead to set a trap.

Kitty and Wolverine meet up, there is a lot of fighting, Storm fights Emma and gets her to switch back, and then almost kills her, but Wolverine stops Storm from doing her in. Emma then tells them they can keep Kitty and the Hellfire Club leave the grounds.

X-Tra Notes: This one has multiple problems. The first being that this can literally happen every week these guys know where you live can't you try to do SOMETHING other than letting them just walk away. The other being: Storm literally says she knew she was walking into a trap and just... does it? And doesn't take anyone with her in case it was a trap? Like, why not have someone shadow you if you know it is a trap? Why walk in alone and with no back up? What the hell?
