Uncanny X-Men #154-155: Random Ms. Marvel Villain Was Exiled Shi'ar Princess All Along

While the rest of the X-Men are examining Magneto's old island base, Cyclops and Storm are manning the X-Mansion. During a discussion, Scott admits he doesn't want leadership back, and is comfortable with Ororo keeping it. But we don't have time for that right now: Just then Corsair arrives, or more well, crashes into the scene, his ship shot down by the Shi'ar. He is pulled from the wreckage by the two X-Men, and he comes to consciousness with Scott examining the locket he had, which has pictures of Scott and Alex as children.

Corsair admits he is Christopher Summers, Scott's dad, and then Storm confirms it to be true. Anyway, another revelation, but we don't have time for that either. A "Sidrian Hunter" a kind of colony of flying creatures that can form together to make a starship is attacking. They get to the Blackbird and run for their lives. There is some back and forth dogfighting, and Corsair kills it by destroying some oil tanks, burning it to a cinder. Scott does not approve.

Anyway, the Blackbird, plus the rest of the X-Men who were chilling on the island all get zapped aboard the Shi'ar warship. Lilandra has been kidnapped, and it has been traced to Earth. If they can't get her back in 24 hours, they are going to blow up the Earth in retaliation.

That seems, proportionate.

Anyway, the X-Men are required to leave two of their number (they leave Kitty and Nightcrawler) while the rest of the X-Men go to the planet to find Lilandra (and get some help from the Avenger Tigra, who was the only one home). Turns out she was kidnapped by her sister, the exiled Deathbird (an old Ms. Marvel villain).

The X-Men fight Deathbird and her mysterious allies, the alien Brood. Deathbird greviously injures Colossus, kidnaps Xavier, and escapes to space with both him and Lilandra.

Leaving the X-Men to get arrested by police... (sort of, not really, as you'll see next issue).

X-Tra Notes: You know, I'm not saying that Jean shouldn't have had to pay for having destroyed an entire planet of people, but it doesn't feel like the Shi'ar Empire had the moral high ground to be the ones to do it. Come on, they are seriously going to destroy AN ENTIRE PLANET because their Empress was kidnapped and taken there. They don't even know if it is someone FROM Earth (hint, it was not).
